havanna born percussionist (conga) who has worked and played since the early 60s with Cal Tjader and Santana(1972-1990)
He was the first percussionist that appeared on a rockrecord Harvey Mandel's Cristo redendor (1968)
His only solo-project was recorded in 1968 and has an allstar band incl; Chic Corea, Chuck Rainy , Donald McDonald, Cal Tjader and several others
musically it's 60s groovy jazz with lots of percussion
lot's of coverversions on the album but all done in a different way
especially: The Troggs - Wild Thing gets a great treatment
several tracks have a great groove : Funky Broadway , sold-out and Granny's samba
groove-collectors should give it a spinn!
